About Us
About Dana
I came to beautiful Vancouver Island (which is far preferable to shivering in the Alberta cold) well over a decade ago to pursue my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and Art Therapy... It was so beautiful here that I decided to stay!
I am now call Victoria home where I live with my husband (see below:), 2 step-children, 2 local rescue cats and a Mexican rescue dog!
The most important aspects of my life are the connection to myself and others, my sense of creativity and wonder, the development of my spiritual self, and my health, along with a sense of balance and presence. To honour these priorities I endeavour to be artistic, playful, to be reflective & contemplative, to laugh, and try new things that challenge me and keep me sharp! When I’m not working with people, I can be found writing in my journal, playing any version of Mario I can find, walking my dog, going to movies, taking photos, reading, and spending time with the important people in my life. I love to practice yoga and travel when I can (especially around this beautiful island)!

About Michael
I came to beautiful Victoria over a decade ago where I discovered my lovely and talented wife (see above:). Originally from the east coast of Canada, I have lived in many parts of this amazing country. I've also lived in Israel where I worked in Security, In Indonesia where I learned "Tenega Dalam" (which means Inner Energy) and Penjak Silat (a beautiful, graceful and fierce form of martial arts). I've also lived in Taiwan (The Emerald Isle), Uzbekistan (The Silk Road), and Azerbaijan (Caspian Caviar). Although I've lived in several beautiful and exotic places, it is Victoria that taught me the most. It is here where I acquired my degrees and my certifications as well as Yoga and Kung Fu. It is also Victoria where I've studied Qi Qong (Energy Healing) and from where I've launched my journeys into Counselling and Somatic Experiencing®.
Some of the amazing things I've done are stand among the silent statues of Buddha in Borobudur at sunrise, scuba dive in the freezing cold rivers and lakes of Northern Ontario, ice fishing while living on a Reserve near the Yukon border, stare into a Volcano in Indonesia, and climb Mount Carmel to the Shrine of the Bab in Haifa Israel.

About Sineyah
Originally from a small town in Northern Ontario, I headed west in 2010 and eventually made my home on beautiful Salt Spring Island, where I’ve raised my three boys. With over 20 years of experience in helping and healing professions, I returned to school in 2019 to pursue my passion for counselling. Naturally, I was also drawn to study Somatic Experiencing which aligns with
both my personal and professional values. As a curious, life-long learner, I am deeply committed to living authentically—in connection with myself, others, and the natural world. I strive to live a slower-paced life, embracing less do-ing and more be-ing. Creativity stokes my inner fire and I find joy in singing with a community choir, watercolour painting, and learning how to make things “the old school way”. I love talking to strangers and appreciate the beauty of meaningful
human connection. You will often find me hanging out in coffee shops, bookstores and art galleries. Nature has been my greatest teacher - showing me the wisdom in stillness, the resilience of growth, and the beauty of cycles that remind us it’s never too late to begin again.

Our Counselling Philosophy
We are modern, holistic and systemic in our approaches. We will work alongside you while you find increased balance, clarity, connection, and contentment in your life and relationships. We will tailor each session to best suit your needs leaving you feeling understood, refreshed, and grounded. Life is constructed of many parts, many people, and many relationships. Perhaps there are conflicts and struggles and you hope for something that just feels better. We see you as a complete individual, not just a person whose difficulties may best be addressed with a combination of approaches. People are both complicated and distinctly unique - wouldn’t it be nice to go to a place that works with those wonderful features rather than against them? Soul Silhouette Healing is that place. Working together as a partnership, we will help you and your relationships to heal, revive and thrive. We believe happiness and contentment are within everyone's reach, and we will work with you to find what you need to make your life better and fulfilled.
